I dedicate this page to my learning subject in 2014 : Sustainable Development (SD). I will update the relevant information, links and blog post here.
Sustainable Development : Definition
“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It contains within it two key concepts:
- the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world’s poor, to which overriding priority should be given; and
- the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and social organization on the environment’s ability to meet present and future needs.”
Sometimes the following shorthand is used: sustainable development calls for socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic growth.
SD Key Word 1 : planetary boundaries
Planetary Boundaries is define as “safe space for human development”. And here they are nine boundaries involve climate change, stratospheric ozone, land use change, freshwater use, biological diversity, ocean acidification, nitrogen and phosphorus inputs to the biosphere and oceans, aerosol loading and chemical pollution.
